Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Prodience, R.I., Week of November 4, 1907. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The bill this week is a very pleasing one which seemed to give satisfaction to patrons as well as critics. Villiers & Lee. Two young women, sister act, hardly fit for a Keith show, more adapted to burlesque. Very coarse, badly dressed and set has very little merit. 10 min. in 2, 3 Shows. The Craigs. Those people didn't care to work without the orchestra therefore closed. Am getting along with them very nicely. Overing Trio. Three children, five, ten and fourteen years of age. They do a very clever turn indeed and made quite a hit in their singing and imitations. Could stand a much better place on the bill. 14 Min. In 1, 3 Shows. Miles & Rickards. I am somewhat disappointed in this act; looked for something much better indeed from reports and from what I had been told of it. It is not bad from a 3-a-day standpoint and might hold second place in the similar 3-a-day houses. That is the best that could be said for it and I think they are overpaid, even as prices go, about $25.00. 12 Min, in 1, 3 Shows La Dent. Comedy juggler. This fellow makes good in this spot and could stand a better place. he is a very clever fellow and his work is unusual enough to create comment. 13 Min. in 2, 3 Shows. Cooke & Stevens. Colored men and a rather unusual act for coons, mostly talking and a little singing by one of them who has a very good voice. I hardly consider it enough better from the average coon acts to warrant giving them two shows a day. 15 min. in 1, 2 Shows. Countess Rossi & Fred Paula. This act was a distinct surprise to me as I had been led to believe it was somewhat inclined to be bad. Miss Rossi and Mr. Paula both have good voices, their offering is novel, and that added to the Countess' beauty, makes the act decidedly well worth playing. 16 min. open in 3, close in 1, 2 Shows. Rooney & Bent. As usual about the hit of the show. 21 min. open in 3, close in 1, 2 Shows. A. O. DUNCAN. Ventriloquist. Probably the worst act in the big show section. I think we have had all the value Mr. Duncan has to give us and would like to skip him for the next two or three years. 21 Min. open 3, close in One, 2 shows. Irene Franklin & Burt Green. This act is probably well enough known not to require description, suffice to say they made an unqualified hit and will be welcome for a return. 24 Min. in Ywo, 2 Shows. Wm. H. Thomson & Co. Another well-known act that gave the very best of satisfaction and is decidedly worth playing. 22 Min. Full Stage, 3 Shows. Friend & Downing. These boys held their own in a very tough spot, but I am not inclined to agree with many other reports on the act that it is "the best act of its kind in vaudeville neither did it make as big a hit, in the same spot on the bill as Howard & Howard did last week. It is worth the salary we are paying it, but I should hate to pay it any more. 18 Min. in 1, 2 Shows. TooZoonin Arabs. Usual hoorah acrobatic act which held the audience in good shape. 9 Min. Full Stage, 2 Shows. Motion Pictures. O.K.
