CRITICISM KEITH & PROCTOR'S 125TH STREET THEATRE NOVEMBER 4, 1907. KARTELLI Balancing on the slack wire. Gives a wonderful exhibition. Some of his tricks are really marvelous. Excellent act. Big applause. 9 Minutes full stage. WELCH, MEALY & MONTROSE Well known. The same big laugh as before. 17 Min in one. KENNEDY & BOONEY In their comedy "The Happy Medium". This is the weakest act on the bill. Received some few laughs in spots. Just about got by. 25 Min. - about 4 Min. in one. FELIX & CLAIRE Well known. Big advance applause. Went fully as strong as before. 21 Min, close in one about 3 Minutes. JULIUS TANNEN Same big hit as before,31 minutes in one. HAL DAVIS & CO. 2/M 1W. Presenting the sensational automobile racing sketch in two scenes "A Race for a wife.". The story is simple - the fathers refusal to allow the girl to marry the man of her choice, decides to elope - second scene shows the two automobiles in a thrilling race, the young couple have the lead driving a Pope-Toledo 125 H. P. while the father has a Buick, and with the panorama backing and effects, it is a thriller. Race occupies about 40 seconds. Powell plays the part of the father in good shape, scoring many laughs. The sketch contains good business, plenty of action, is interesting and held the audience. The finish is sensational. Automobile race is a knockout, securing spontaneous applause from all parts of the house. 20 Min.
