Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of November 11, 1907. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The show this week is quite satisfactory as a whole, altho there are some spots in it that are quite bad and some fair. The 3-a-day section is particularly weak. Mr. & Mrs. Tracy. Rural sketch. A really sad affair even from a 3-a-day standpoint. 13 Min. in 3, 3 Shows. Kitty Morris. Coon shouter. Just managed to get by and gets too much money even for this spot. 10 Min. in 1, 3 Shows. Schillers. Comedy juggling act. Would be all right if I had them open the show, which place they can just fill and no better, with satisfaction. All right considering their salary. 14 Min. Full Stage, 3 Shows. Ben Reinhold. Jew monologue. Not the usual type of Jew on a stage, but in a neat makeup. In a little earlier spot think he might have been satisfactory. As it was he just got through and no better. 13 Min. in 1, 3 Shows. Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Bacon. Novelty banjoists. This is the only act in the 3-a-day section that is worth having in the bill really. The man of this team is quite an expert banjo player and drummer and the woman is passably good as an accompanist. Worth playing in the 3-a-day section or number two in the smaller houses. 13 Min. in 1, 2 Shows. Keeley Bros. I will have to admit that these boys pleased the audience and certainly made a hit at both the afternoon and night shows. I am very glad they are in the bill. 15 Min. Full Stage, can close in 1, 2 Shows. Big City Quartette. These people are not quite as good as I expected, but get by all right if not depended upon for too important a place in the bill. It is not a bad act, by any means, and is decidedly worth playing, but I expected a lot more. 14 Min. in 1, 2 Shows. Agnes Mahr. Toe dancer, and a most excellent one, in fact I don't know that I ever saw any better. However, the fact remains that she did not make a hit, which applies to toe dancers generally, and I never knew one that did. For myself, I would rather eliminate them from the bills in the future. 10 Min. Full Stage, 2 Shows. Edna Luby. Impersonator. This girl was a distinct surprise to me. I had never seen her before and had heard much adverse criticism on her performances. I consider her one of the best in her line. She has a most pleasing personality and made a decided hit with the audience yesterday afternoon and last night. 17 Min. in 1, 2 Shows. Polly Pickles' Pets. This act got away with very little applause at the performances yesterday and as I have said about these novelty acts, they have no value to speak of after the first presentation as far as Providence is concerned, unless they are most remarkable and attractive, which this act is not. It is a novelty and that is all. Like everything that Mr. Hart does it is done on a cheap scale. 22 Min. Full Stage, 2 Shows. Big City Quartette. It is only just to these men to say that after giving them a little bit easier place on the bill that they made a big hit Tuesday afternoon, going nearly as well as some of the best Quartettes that we have ever played. Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.
