91. N. S. Hastings. CLEVELAND, OHIO. Nov. 18 '07. CLARA BALLERINI Palace in 4. Time 8 min. Opens with Spanish dance. Then does a very good trapeze balancing act which gets a strong hand at close. Makes good in this place, but not a very strong feature. GORDON & MARX German comedians. In One. Time 12 min. Material good, but presentation rather flat in spots. Toward the end of the act, things warm up and it finished with a good hand. MARTINNETTIE & SYLVESTER Did not appear. HELEN BERTRAM Operatic prima donna. In One. Time 9 Min. Miss Bertram has a striking stage presence, and her voice is excellent. She made a big with with her repertoire of classical, sentimental and popular songs. One real encore. EUGENIE BLAIR & CO. Special set in 4. Presenting "After The Matinee." Two men, two women. Time, 20 minutes. Eugenie Blair is a great local favorite, and she scored a big hit. Her sketch, however, is not particularly good, and its fast action is the only thing that carries it through. The pathetic moments ring true only occasionally, and the leading man is a stick. LONEY HASKELL In one. Monologue. Time, 18 min. Mr. Haskell has a fast line of bright talk, and he is fortunate in his jolly manner of delivery. He kept the house in an uproar, and the people called him back three times. He was probably the real hit of the bill. DAN BURKE & HIS SCHOOL GIRLS. Special set in 4. Time, 17 min. Burke and six girls. this is a crackerjack dancing act, one of the best we have ever had. The girls are pretty and dance unusually well. Mr Burke does a little eccentric dancing alone, which goes big. Several bows were taken. PAULTON & DOOLEY F.S. Time 11 Min. 2 men. Cyclists. The men are fast performers and hold the people in their seats better than any closing act we have had for some time. They actually do some NEW bicycle tricks, which is supposed to be impossible. This is a regular "bronco busting" act on bicycles. THE KINETOGRAPH.
