CRITICISM KEITH & PROCTOR'S 125TH STREET THEATRE NOVEMBER 25, 1907. CARLETTA This is quite a novelty and certainly depreciates the value of the act to have him open the show. He is a wonderful contortionist, the greatest I ever saw. Big applause. 9 Min. Full Stage BESNAH & MILLER Well known. Singing and dancing received quite a big lot of applause. The talk is a little antiquated. Finished to good applause. 15 Min. in one. HAL STEPHENS & CO. Presenting the comedy entitled "Silas Slawson's Dream, or A Modern Rip Van Winkle". A little afraid of this act on account of previous criticism. To my surprise he made a tremendous hit, in fact he was the applause hit of the show up to this time. Quite a scenic effect making five changes. A little Novelty with plenty of good comedy. 22 Minutes full stage. BIG CITY FOUR An entirely new act. Good selections, excellent voices, good comedy. Two new members to the company and I think they are fully as strong as the others. While they were not a sensation they pleased. 15 Minutes in one. W. C. FIELDS This man got the house from the start-off. Had them laughing continually. His work consists of juggling balls, cigars, hats, but entirely different from any other juggler we ever had. His billiard ball trick on the finish is a scream. 14 Minutes F. Stage NICHOLS SISTERS This act proved a dismal failure. The audience received them as an intermission. I never saw such rumbling and moving of seats in my life. Thought they were a joke. No applause on the finish. one woman and two small boys. Their work consists of the regulation acrobatic and head balancing feats. They work quick and were appreciated The act is a pretty fair closing number. Seven minutes, full stage. KINETOGRAPH PURCHASING AN AUTOMOBILE Fairly good comedy.
