(2) Zingari Operatic Troupe. On at 4.19, 14 min full stage, 3 min close in 1; 17 min in all. An entire change from the old Zingari act. 11 singers, a Spanish dancer and a conductor. As good, if not better than the Romany Company, which means that it is as notable a singing number as we have ever had in vaudeville. It seems a pity that the probabilities are that this really great organization will have to be disbanded on account of the congestion of bookings. Rice and Prevost. On at 4.26, 10 min, full stage. A look at this act makes one realize how immeasurably superior it is in comparison with its countless counterfeits. Although the show was late, Rice had the audience in convulsions. Kinetograph. On at 4.46, 22 min. "Swedish Sports"; an excellent film, particularly seasonable. "Laughing Gas"; a pretty good comic, better than the average. De Velde and Zelda. On at 5.08, 10 min, full stage; 3 shows. A very neat equilibristic act, something on the order of that of the Onlaw Trio. The male member of the team is a finely-developed athlete, while the female portion is very pretty and shapely. Good enough for an early spot on any bill. Their costuming is particularly attractive. Alexis and Schall. On at 5.18, 11 min, in 1. This well-known act is capable of making good in the number two spot on almost any bill. Chefalo and Capretta. On at 5.29, 15 min, full stage. Can do a close in 1, if necessary. 3 shows. An excellent illusion act for the money. Good paraphernalia throughout. Comment. About the only fault to find with this show is that there is too much of it, Sa-Hera being practically excess baggage. to make it run faster I have changed the positions of Sa-Hera and Max York's Dogs. I do not think we have had many stronger shows in this house. No cuts, excepting those made to shorten the running-time of the show.
