121 H. A. Daniels CLEVELAND, OHIO. DEC. 9 '07 Adamini & TAYLOR- Man and woman. Street Musicians. This is too good an act for this spot. I have played them in the hard spot in one. Went well today. Drop in one. 12 min. KONORAH- The Mystic Ball seemed to be shelved, for Kenorah is now doing her old rapid mathematical calculation act. They have put considerable speed into the offering and it seemed to take quite well with the afternoon audience. C. D. F. in three. 18 min. HAL MERRITT In his Poster Girl Monologue. Has not been in Cleveland for sometime. Managed to get by in this spot without any trouble. Drop in one. 17 min. HARRY VOKES AND MARGERET DALY VOKES- This act sent in no billing whatever, and the only word I got from New York was that the name of the act would be Hap Ward and Margaret Daly Vokes. The act was advertised that way, and I received a communication from E. D. Stait's Theatre here that I would be liable in a law suit to be fined a million dollars if- I did not immediately withdraw the advertising, because Hap Ward was to play the Lyceum in a few weeks. The act does not amount to a great deal. There are two women and a man in the act and they have a choice collection of ancient jokes that would listen well at a five cent picture show. They gave a burlesque on Kenorah's mind reading act that was the best thing they did. Garden. F. S. 12 min. TACIANU- A female impersonator, and it evidently sang in the Irish language. At least that is the way it sounded to me; although I do not understand either French, German or Irish. Not a big hit, but managed to get by without any trouble. Drop in one. 12 min. AGNES SCOTT AND HORACE WRIGHT- Sketch entitled the "Wall Between". Just two people in this act. It might be termed a dainty little love story, probably suitable for the young ladies who love to attend stock productions and love to see the matinee idol fondly embrace the heroine. From a vaudeville standpoint, I should say that while the act is pleasing, it lacks speed and fire and it takes too long to tell the story. It seemed to take all of the life out of the show today, and Julius Tannen who followed, worked hard for several minutes before he managed to bring the audience back to its feet. Spec. Set. F. S. 21 min. Julius Tannen- Monologue. This mans work needs no comment. He is just simply a hit every trip, and there is no getting away from it. Did about 18 minutes today without any trouble. Drop in one. PAUL CONCHAS- Heavy-weight juggler. Clevelanders think he is the best in the business. I believe they are right. He surely has a great hold on the theatre goers here. Spec. Set stuff. F. S. 13 min. Kinetograph.
