162 CRITICISM KEITH & PROCTOR'S 125TH STREET THEATRE JANUARY 6, 1908 CALLAHAN & ST GEORGE Presenting the same act as Callahan & Mack entitled "The Old Neighborhood". Miss St George is quite an excellent harpist. Not as good as the original and a bad opening act. Secured some few giggles in spots and just about got by. 20 Minutes FULL STAGE> KONORAH Mind Reader. Well known. This woman's entire act consists of solving arithmetical problems blindfolded. The audience appeared to be interested. With the aid of the assistant secured some few laughs. A little applause on the finish. 17 Minutes FULL STAGE FOUR LUKENS Aerial trapeze artists. Well known. An excellent act and all of their work was greatly appreciated. Finished to good applause. 8 Minutes FULL STAGE. ALEC HURLEY & CO. Presenting "The Coster Concert". Opened in one with a Coster song which did not appeal to the audience. His next scene in Two received quite a number of laughs on account of the general make-up, sizes and mannerisms of the company. The next scene, full stage, of the Public House consists of coster singing and dancing which the audience did not take seriously it is impossible to change their position. 13 Minutes in ONE POWELL-COTTRELL Excellent and quite novel Equestrian exhibition introducing some wonderful bareback riding and a series of poses. When this act was about half finished the best part of the audience NOTE:- In all my experience I never saw a show as bad as this one for stage waits and minus comedy. Another show like this next week and it would be useless for us to open the doors.
