KEITH & PROCTOR'S 12TH STREET THEATRE CRITICISM (Cont'd) ALEC HURLEY & CO. (Cont'd) and I presume they were greatly relieved when the curtain dropped. 28 Minutes, Open in ONE about 4 Minutes change to TWO and FULL STAGE ElITE MUSICAL FOUR Four young men in a straight musical act. Fairly good musicians but nothing out of the ordinary. An act that will not set the world afire and one that a manager would not care to repeat. 17 Minutes FULL STAGE Close in ONE about 4 Minutes. VALERIE BERGERE & CO. Presenting her one-act playlet "A Bowery Camille". Pleased to say this is the one redeeming feature of the show.. She certainly saved the show this afternoon. Rather dramatic and carries a vein of humor which secured a great many laughs. She was very well supported, easily the applause hit of the show and secured five genuine curtain calls. 28 Minutes FULL STAGE CRANE BROTHERS In their "Mudtown Lockup". This act is so well known to Harlemites that a great many left their seats for a promenade. They are not strong enough to hold this place, with this show it is impossible to change their position. 13 Minutes in ONE POWELL-COTTRELL Excellent and quite novel Equestrian exhibition introducing some wonderful bareback riding and a series of poses. When this act was about half finished the best part of the audience NOTE:- In all my experience I never saw a show as bad as this one for stage waits and minus comedy. Another show like this next week and it would be useless for us to open the doors.
