167 CLEVELAND, OHIO. Ned. S. Hastings. Show of Jan. 6th. ASRA F.S. Palace. Female assistant. Billiard ball and cue juggling. A neat and skillful act, that ought to go well any place on a bill. Time 8. WILLIE WESTON In 1. Time 18. Weston does excellent impersonations that get away from the usual line. His singing is exceptionally good. He was one of the big hits of the show. WILLARD SIMMS & CO. (Edith Conrad and Edmund Gorman.) C.D.F. Time 28. Close in 1. This is a slap stick, knockabout act with Simms tumbling about the stage most of the time. But in general it is funny and had the audience screaming most of the time. There are some spots when it gets pretty raw. THE ELECTRIC CRICKETS. F.S. Special. time 18. 8 girls and Catherine Bunn, prima donna. William Cripps, the hero, comedian and whatever else is necessary. Girls are fair lookers. Miss Bunn has beautiful voice. Scenery has seen better days. The act, however, runs with a lot of snap and ginger, and the costumes (many changes) are pretty. People liked it. The novelty is in a dainty system of electric lights. SWOR BROTHERS. Black face comedians. In 1. Time 22. Singing fair, jokes ancient and poorly delivered (For instance the one about the bear chasing a man from June to December.) but the dancing is great. This feature saves a frost. It could stand about a 10 min. cut and be much improved. CLARENCE WILBUR AND HIS TEN FUNNY FOLKS. 3 men, 7 women. Time 32. Open in 4 special school room act. Close in 1. Wilbur enters the class room of a female seminary and disguising himself as a girl, becomes a pupil. His comedy, while clean, is very much a la burlesque house and he yells it out at the top of his lungs. But most of the audience appeared to like it. The singing of the girl quartette is artistic and much appreciated. Too long. CARRIE DE MAR In 1. Time 21. Singing comedienne. After a slow start, Miss De Mar begins to work and gets the audience with her. Her "Lonesome Fluffy Ruffles" song is one of the best song hits we have had for a long time. Her impersonations in "Amateur Night" are also good. Somewhat above the average for this kind of an act. ELLA BRADNA AND FRED DERRICK. F.S. Time 8. this is a great big circus feature presenting a graceful and skillful bareback riding act. It held the audience in the seats in great shape and applause was frequent. It proved a decided novelty for this house and was greatly appreciated. THE KINETOGRAPH
