(2) Marcel's Living Art Studies. On at 3.52, 20 min, full stage. A hit. We regret very much that we cannot have them for two or three weeks, as we could feature them for that length of time. Undoubtedly the best production that Marcel has ever made, the bas-reliefs being particularly effective. Carrie De Mar. On at 4.12, 21 min, in 1. Am delighted to state that Miss De Mar made a most emphatic success this afternoon. She seemed to be the pivotal point in this week's program, the show either falling or standing through her success or failure, as she is billed as the headliner. She certainly possesses magnetism, dresses beautifully, and has some excellent exclusive songs, particularly "Amateur Night" and "Lonesome Fluffy Ruffles". She sang four songs this afternoon, but as we have an excess of time this week we have cut her down to her three sure-fire hits: the two before mentioned and "Sweetheart Jo", with its novel rain effect. Her first song this afternoon, "The Kind of Girls Men Like", is all right and she sings it well, but she doesn't need it this week. Mareena, Nevaro and Mareena. On at 4.33, 10 min, full stage. these boys scored their usual success in this house, in fact, there are few acrobatic acts that go better here. They have added some new stuff that won them deserved applause. Kinetograph. On at 4.43, 25 min. "Willing to Oblige"; good comic. "Fashionable Paris"; a fine scenic film. "The Suburbanite's Ingenious Alarm"; a very good comic. Blanche Sloan. On at 5.08, 7 min, full stage; 3 shows. Rather a pretty little woman with a good figure, who does an excellent trapeze act. Think the smaller cities would find her thoroughly all right. The Kramers. On at 5.15, 15 min; are working in 1 this week, although they prefer to open full stage and close in 1. Mother and daughter in a hodge-podge of singing and dancing, banjo and piano playing. The little girl is quite clever. Good value for the money. Cuts: Frances Knight. Instructed not to bring the American flag from beneath her dress; to work to her plant only, and to no one else in the audience. Kelly and Ashby. Instructed to omit business with nude statue. Also "Christmas presents" remark and business. Comment. The show played very well indeed, so well that there will be no change from the original arrangement. It seemed to give great satisfaction this afternoon, and received many favorable comments.
