UNION SQUARE CRITICISM-----WEEK OF JAN. 13th, 1908.
LA BELLES   Man and woman in a Hoop Rolling and Juggling Act. The man is a good juggler, and the woman is a good Hoop roller. The comedy in the act is only fair. Went very well. 11 minutes, full stage. Three shows.
HANSON AND JAMES   Colored Man and woman in a singing and dancing Act. The woman is a fair singer. The man can't sing or dance, and they did not get one hand this afternoon. 11 minutes in one. Three shows.
AXTELLE AND "HEINE"   Axtelle has a very good line of talk, and his contortion work is excellent. The dog hardly does anything. Went very well. 13 minutes in two. Three shows.
KITTY JOHNSON   Very pretty girl in a straight singing act. She has a very good voice, and a good personality. She sang three songs all of which went fair. I told her to get different songs. 10 minutes in one.
CALLAHAN AND ST. GEORGE   Doing the same act as Callahan & Mack entitled "The Old Neighborhood." Miss St. George is an excellent Harpist, and Mr. Callahan plays the part of an old Irishman very well indeed. Went very well. 20 minutes, full stage. Two shows.
MELVILLE AND HIGGINS   Man and woman in a comedy talking, singing and dancing act. This is a very good act. The woman is certainly clever, and had the audience in roars of laughter all through the act. They both have good voices. Went very well. 18 minutes in one.
ALFRED KELCY AND COMPANY In "A Tale of a Turkey." This is a very good sketch, and very well acted. Went very well. 20 minutes, full stage.
SAM WILLIAMS   In an entertaining Pianologue. This man does an excellent act. He has a good voice, and plays the piano very well indeed. Went very big. 10 minutes in one.
LA VINE CIMARON TRIO   Presenting their Comedy Vodevil, "Imagination." A very good comedy Acrobatic Act. Went very well. 14 minutes, full stage.

MACART'S BABOON AND MONKEY COMEDIANS   This is a very good closing act, and the monkeys are very well trained, and they kept the audience laughing all the time. Went very well. 13 minutes, full stage.

NOTE   The show this week is very good. There is plenty of comedy all the way through.
