179. Report on Columbus, Show Week Jany. 13th. -- 08 W. W. Prosser. Louis Guertin. High broad, and all around jumper, assisted by Lamb. This man does a great number of tricks of the aforesaid order and does them excellently. -- He made a very favorable impression and thoroughly made good, his act being punctuated with applause throughout and finishing strong. 14 minutes Garden. Harry Shunk: Blackface comedian with a singing and talking act. He went well and used a lot of stuff not heard here before. -- Well known here and will no doubt draw some for the reason that he is very popular in this city. -- His work is a good as the majority of men in his line and much better than that of a great many. -- He was put on in an emergency, owing to the sudden illness of Chris Richards. 16 minutes in one. Harts Electric Crickets: A distinct hit. -- Two principals and eight girls. -- Nothing especially elaborate about the scenery but satisfactory. The act so far as singing was concerned was all that could be desired judging from the reception the work brought forth. -- The soprano was suffering with a bad cold and very hoarse, but even then made good. The finish was strong. Special set. Leona Thurber & Picks. An act that was accorded a flattering reception judging from the laughs and applause given. -- Nothing to find fault with. A decided success. 13 minutes in one. Charlotte Parry & Co. "The Comstock Mystery" -- Two men one woman and the latter an artist of the first water. -- Miss Parry had every one with her from beginning to end and at no time did she fail to hold their undivided attention. -- This act went bit and it ought to cause a lot of favorable comment. -- Nothing better of this order ever seen here. C. D. F. 29 minutes. Curtis, Palmer & Co. -- "Mama's Darling Boy" -- Two men one woman. Corking good laughing act with a strong singing finish. -- Left nothing to be desired. C. D. F. 18 minutes. Willie Weston: (NOTE: This act appeared just before Curtis Palmer & Co.) Imitating people you know. -- An extremely clever young man and really the hit of the bill this afternoon. -- He had a hard time getting away at the matinee. -- His imitations seemed to hit them just right and they couldn't get enough. 18 minutes in one. Five Piroscoffis: Parisian Novelty Jugglers: Two women, three men. A very fetching act and one that made a hit. -- The act is well dressed and all of the work went excellently. -- Held the closing spot to a T. PICTURES: "Paul Revere's Ride." -- O. K. An unusually good show and one that certainly ought to draw.
