189 UNION SQUARE CRITICISM-----WEEK OF JAN. 20th, 1908. THREE DANCING MITCHELLS Colored Singing and Dancing Act. This is a good three a day act. Their singing is only fair, but they are good dancers. Went very well. 13 minutes in one. Three shows. DeVOIE TRIO America's Youngest Ring Artists. Three boys, all working straight. They are very clever on the rings, and got good applause at the finish of their act. Went very well. 11 minutes, full stage. Three shows. JOSEPHINE DAVIS In a Novel Singing Specialty. This girl is very clever. She sang three songs, all of which were good. Got good applause after each song. Good Value for the money. Went very well. 7 minutes in one. Three shows. GORMAN AND WEST Man and woman in a comedy Singing and Dancing Sketch. They are doing the same act as when I last saw it. Went very well. 17 minutes, full stage and close in one. Three shows. FREDERICK VOELKER, German Violinist accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Voelker. All of Mr. Voelker's selections got big applause, and he certainly can play the Violin. Mrs. Voelker plays the Piano very well. Went big. 12 minutes, full stage. Two shows. CLEMENT De LION Billiard Ball Manipulator. This man is certainly clever. His work is out of the ordinary, and he got good applause for every trick he did. Went very well. 16 minutes, full stage and close in one. RICE AND CADY German Comedians. They have some good material, and they went better in this spot than they did next to closing. Went very well. 14 minutes in one. CURTIS, PALMER & COMPANY In "Mama's Darling Boy." This sketch had the audience laughing from the start to the finish. They finished their act by closing in one, and singing a couple of songs which were very good. They all have good voices. Went very well. 18 minutes, full stage and close in one. sketch. Miss Allen Plays her part very well, and she is supported by a good Company. Went very well. 25 minutes, full stage. BARRY & HUGHES In their Dramatic Novelty "The Soul and the Heel." This is a very good act. Man and woman. The woman is very clever, and the man is also good. They are both good singers, and they have some very good material. They went very big this afternoon, and at the night show I put them next to closing. 25 minutes, Special Drop in one. COTTRELL, POWERL AND COMPANY European Equestrian Exhibition introducing some wonderful bareback riding and a number of poses. This is a good act to close the show, but our stage is too small for this act, as they have a pad that takes up the whole stage. KINETOGRAPH. All Pictures are good. Reed A. Albee,
