N. S. HASTINGS. CLEVELAND, OHIO. Jan. 27 '08 CURTIS, PALMER CO. C.D.F. Close in 1. Time 17. One woman, two men. Presenting "Mama's Darling Boy." This is a nonsensical sketch of the over grown boy type. There is a lot of rough, noisy comedy, which only gets an occasional hand. The singing toward the end is excellent and saves the act. The solos and the ensemble singing got a big reception. BERT LEVY F.S. Time 16. This is one of the best features we have had for weeks. Mr. Levy draws faces of well known people and types by means of a specially patented device which projects the pictures as they are being made. An act that holds the undivided attention of the audience. GEORGE ABLE'S CO. Presenting "Three Of A Kind." C.D.F. Time 26. 4 men, 3 women. This is a great big laughing hit, built up by situations of mistaken identity and disguises. It is well dressed and excellently acted. MAYME REMINGTON AND HER PICKANINIES. In 1. Time 14. Miss Remington and 4 little coons. Songs and dances. As a singing feature this act is a frost, being spoiled by the loud and unharmonious screaching of the pickaninies. The dancing however is remarkable and it borders on acrobatics. Finishes strong and gets good hand. HOLDEN'S MANNIKINS F.S. Time 23. Special set (Miniature stage.) A highly entertaining mannikin feature, differing greatly from the common run. The ideas are up to date and hold the grown-ups as well as the children. SEYMOUR AND HILL Time 17. Man and woman. F.S. Palace. An eccentric acrobatic offering. The man is great and does several tricks which take all over the house. The woman is junk. Most of the time the team works hard. There are about three minutes of "stalling" which could be profitibly eliminated. JOHN E HAZZARD. time 15. In One. Monologist. Hazzard tells new jokes and proves a big hit. He was recalled once. OUR BOYS IN BLUE F.S. Special back drop with great cloud effects. Time 14. 18 men. This is a legitimate military offering which gives the audience a rare treat. The men go through the regulation drill, and manual of arms perfectly and with a snap that brings out applause all the time. Then there comes a little melodramatic touch in which a fake battle ship is sunk with excellent effect. The gattling gun drill is a thriller. The best closing act we have had all season. THE KINETOGRAPH. 197.
