Temple Detroit. Feb. 3, 1908. BLACK & JONES. Colored men in a comedy-dancing act. Considering the position on the bill and the money received by the act it is all right. 10 min. in one. KENO, WALSH & MELROSE. Comedy- acrobatic. The same act that has been coming here at regular intervals. All right for this spot. 10 min. in 2. 4 min. in 1. CHARLOTTE PARRY & CO. In "The protean act "The Comstock Mystery." Miss Parry gave the same performance as before, and the press gave her the headline honors, showering her with extravagant praise. The act was well received. Her support is excellent. 33 min. FS. LILLIAN SHAW. The young Yiddisher girl again made good here, and the press placed her next to Charlotte Parry as the "good thing." Miss Shaw is very clever and our people like her very much. 16 min. in 1. EDDIE LEONARD. Assisted by the Gordon brothers. this act is a replica of Leonard's act of the season before last with the Sharp brothers. While the Gordon brothers are not as good dancers as the Sharp brothers the act as a whole is very good. 9 min. in 3. 7 min. in one. "RAIN-DEARS." This is a very good act notwithstanding it gets but little applause except in the rain storm scene. Again I do not believe that a great many of the audience understand about the people of the far north, their custom of singing for rain, etc. Louise Montrose is not as good in the leading part as her predecessor. Otherwise the act is about the same notwithstanding there is not a single girl in the act that appeared with it here last. 15 min. FS. JULIUS TANNEN. The great trouble with Tannen in this house is that he does not speak distinctly for the gallery. By the time his voice gets up there it is muffled, and the gallery boys do not like him. Otherwise he is a clever monologist and very pleasing to those who can follow him. 14 min. in one. THE FOUR LUKENS. This act is now little better than the Boises, and the other casting acts as they have cut out the great climax to their act- the twisting somersault over the bars- which was the one feature that distinguished them from all the rest, and made their act the great act it was. 7 min. FS. KINETOGRAPH. "Glimpses of Erin" is a very pretty series of pictures and pleased all the way. 212.
