Report on Columbus Show Week Feby. 17th. -- 08 W. W. Prosser. WHITTLE: A ventriloquist and a very good one. -- Judging from the way he went this afternoon, he is the best hit for this kind of an act the house has had excepting Tom Edwards only. -- He made a good impression the minutes he came in sight and he held them without any trouble all the way through. -- Took three bows at the finish. 14 minutes. -- Special set. COLLINS & BROWN: German comedians who were only fair and who just managed to get by. -- They appear amateurish and lack force. -- They won a few half hearted laughs and that was all. 15 minutes in one. THE FIVE MADCAPS: This act went only fair and was a disappointment. Had figured quite a bit on it but it failed to get more than a passing notice at either afternoon or evening performance. 13 minutes Garden. EDITH HELENA: She was billed big and made good all that was said in advance about her. -- Went very strong matinee and night and she ought to draw. 12 minutes in one. INEZ McCAULEY & CO: in "The Unexpected" -- Sketch admirably enacted by Miss McCauley and Clarence Oliver. -- This is a hard sketch town and they acquitted themselves very satisfactorily. -- There were many laughs throughout the act and the finish was strong. C. D. F. 18 minutes. HARRY GILGOIL: Just a great big hit! C. D. F. 17 minutes. WILTON BROS: Novelty Comedy Bar act. -- Quite a good line of comedy and the straight work was all that could be desired. -- The act was perfectly satisfactory. Wood 8 minutes. Pictures: O. K. 226.
