(2) Vesta Victoria. On at 3.52, 25 min; one song in 1, one song in 1 1/2, two songs in 1. Undoubtedly the chief factor in drawing a capacity house this afternoon. Was not in good voice, owing to a cold, and inclined to be huffy, owing to the fact that we again refused to allow her to sing "Man, Man, Man"; also because I have advertised this as her farewell engagement in Boston. I do not feel I am taking any chances in making the last statement, for I do not think she would ever be worth anything like her present salary to us again. However, from our advance sales we have every reason to expect one of the very biggest weeks of the season. Five Cliftons. On at 4.17, 10 min, full stage. A remarkably good acrobatic act, by four men and one pretty girl. Almost all of their feats possess the element of novelty. It is possible that it is a bit overpaid at $350., but it would be a great bargain at two fifty, and good value at three hundred. It certainly fits this show perfectly. Kinetograph. On at 4.27, 25 min. "A Novice on Stilts"; a very good comic. "Picturesque Smyrna", quite interesting. "A Comedy of Errors"; a fair comic. Seeback. On at 4.52, 13 min, full stage, 3 shows. An excellent 3-show act, in fact it is worthy of the number one spot almost anywhere. His appearance makes a good stage display and his work with anywhere from one to nine punching-bags is interesting. Jeff and La Vern Healty. On at 5.05, 15 min, in 1, 3 shows. An excellent 3-show act. Mrs. Healy wears some very handsome costumes, but is not very long on voice; while Mr. Healy is an accomplished pianist. Would get by with credit as an opener in some of the small houses. Waters. On at 3.20, 15,min, full stage, can close in 1, if necessary, 3 shows. Legerdemain act of the stereotyped style. Good value for the money, sixty dollars. Cuts:- Latoy Brothers. Couchee movements by the comedian. Coombs and Stone. Lifting coat-tails; business with corsets. Comment. A rattling good show, one of the best, if not THE best, of the season.
