PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S June 23rd [p.] 9 KINOGRAMS and "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Pictures fair. Paragraphs funny. DENNIS BROS. - (6 mins.) A routine of the usual tricks on a revolving ladder. Did very well in the opening spot. JAMES H. CULLEN - (12 mins.) He did fairly well with his series of parodies on popular songs. Closed only fair. GALLAGHER & ROLLEY - (14 mins.) Virtually the same act that Gallgher did last season with another partner. It has been brightened up and Rolley adds a big applause hit with some mouth-organ music. LYDIA BARRY - (18 mins.) After starting a bit slow with her vaudeville imitations she picked up strong and finished very well with some well handled talk that had lots of laugh in it. Closed with a song that brought her a big hand. DE LEON & DAVIES in "Behind the Front" - (15 mins.) Their act has been shortened since last season. It got some laughs but finished only fairly well with a burlesque drama done in a song. MARIE DRESSLER - (22 mins.) A big applause hit. She was given a very warm welcome and kept the audience laughing with her usual kind of comedy. She has a lot of good material, which he [sic] handles in her accustomed style and finished strong. IVAN BANKOFF & CO. - (20 mins.) This is positively one of the best dancing numbers ever played here and scored one of the biggest hits of any act of its kind. Each number scored individually and the duet dances brought rounds of applause. The piano player also registered strongly and at the finish the audience applauded for several minutes. AL SHAYNE - (20 mins.) A good big laughing hit that filled the next to closing spot in excellent style. The comedy got plenty of laughs and singing was liberally applauded. Finished strong. FOUR ROEDERS - (7 mins.) Very pretty and novel balancing and gymnastic act by two men and two women. A very good closing number. GENERAL REMARKS - A very satisfactory summer show with plenty of comedy as its feature. CUTS Lydia Barry - Remark addressed to leader "You sang in my room". Al Shayne - Expression "What the Hell" and commenting on people leaving the theatre.
