BOSTON KEITH'S August 25, 9 KINOGRAMS & TOPICS OF THE DAY:-18 min. Kinograms only fair and Topics of the Day a little better than usual. Rekoma:-8 min. in 1. Exceptionally good balancing act. Kerr & Weston: 19 min. in 1. Rather clever singing and dancing act and went over very good in this spot. Shoemaker & Roseleigh:-13 min. f.s. Shoemaker and Roseleigh in a sketch called "Mr. James of London" which was very well played with a very good cast, yet the audience simply tolerated it. Unless sketches are of a very exceptional character it seems to me the day of sketches is gone by in vaudeville. Sylvester & Vance:-16 min. in 1. This act did only fairly well until the finish when it went over very good. Mastersingers "On the Links":-23 min. f.s. Spec. Have a good program of songs and went over as big as ever. Joseph L. Browning:-17 min. in 1. This character bit of Browning's has an element of novelty and made a decided hit with the audience. Hermine Shone, Jack Denny & Co.:-27 min. f.s. close in 1. This act, "Peggy O'Brien", was a decided novelty, was well played and went over first rate. Morris & Campbell:-20 min. in 1. Morris and Campbell playing their old act "The Aviator" with as much success as ever. Berk & Valda:-16 min. f.s. Spec. This is an exceptionally good dancing act. Would make a hit on earlier spot on the bill, but even in this closing position it went over big and caused some comment. CUTS:-Sylvester & Vance: Please eliminate line about "girls showing something more interesting," also last verse of "Haw-haw" song referring to "paw and maw". Kerr & Weston: Please eliminate the "Shimmy" from your act. Shoemaker & Roseleigh: Please eliminate the word "damdest" from your act. Hermine Shone, Jack Denny & Co.:- Please eliminate all suggestion of "Shimmy" from your act. Morris & Campbell: Please eliminate verse "Jack asked Jill" from your act.
