PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S AUGUST 25th 9 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - (18 mins.) With the exception of the last two or three pictures the series was rather dry. "Topics" very good. MYRTLE & JIMMY DUNEDIN - (11 mins.) Made a very good opener, the work on the high wheel being handled for laughs by the use of some comedy talk. GREEN & MYRA - (13 mins.) The man in the act was formerly Sophie Tucker's principal violinist and he has built up a very good musical novelty with the girl, who is not only a clever violinist but sings and dances. Green scored with his individual violin numbers and finishing with a lively dance duet they closed very big. THE BRIANTS - (12 mins.) A very good acrobatic novelty by two men, all in pantomine. Their work is entirely new, splendidly done and got a very good mixture of applause and laughs, closing strong. JULIA KELETY - (13 mins.) She did very well with four songs, singing in French and English. Makes a stunning appearance. Miss Kelety appeared here during the past season with "Oh! Mama" and was remembered for her work in that piece. Closed to a very good hand. MRS. WELLINGTON'S SURPRISE" - (20 mins.) A very good low comedy playlet written by George Kelly, a Philadelphian, the playing of one of the characters carrying the sketch through to a very good laughing hit. The sketch is on the edge of broad farce and was very well received. MR. CRAIG CAMPBELL - (18 mins.) He repeated the good impression made on former visits and registered solidly with each of his numbers. All his selections are of the clossical kind and well sung. Was in excellent voice and closed to a good hand. MONTGOMERY & ALLEN -(20 mins.) - This is about the same act that Montgomery did with Florence Moore and later with George Perry, and as a "nut comedy" act got over in good shape in the next to closing spot. Montgomery got a lot of laughs with his clowning and Miss Allen injected a couple of song numbers. The act scored strong with a burlesque dance. D'AMOUR & DOUGLAS - (8 mins.) A very good hand-to-hand balancing act with a good routine and one big flash trick for the finish. Did very well in the closing spot. GENERAL REMARKS - The above bill proved a very satisfactory summer show with plenty of variety and comedy and also with a number of new faces.
