PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE September 1 9 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Up to the average and "Topics" very good. WILLIE HALE & BROTHER - (16 mins.) A very good opening act that got over in splendid shape. A mixture of juggling and comedy with a finish in one with xylophone. Closed very well. BEN & HAZEL MANN - (15 mins.) A very good comedy turn by a man and woman. A good line of talk and handle it for plenty of laughs. Also use a couple of songs. Were a good size laughing hit and closed to a good hand. ARNAUT BROS. - (16 mins.) This act has not changed any since played here last but it was just as big a hit as usual. Got a lot of laughs and closed to a big hand. MARIE & ANN CLARK - (17 mins.) These girls handle their low comedy stuff in very good shape and the act repeated very well for us, getting a lot of laughs and finishing to a very good hand. KINGSLEY BENEDICT in "Wild Cats" - (23 mins.) a strong dramatic sketch played by two men, a dual role being played by Mr. Benedict. It is a tensely drawn story that held the audience with the closest attention from start to finish. It is novel in construction and very well played. Closed strong. BILLY GLASON - (19 mins.) He held this spot down in excellent shape with a mixture of songs and comedy talk. He tells several stories in addition to singing two or three popular numbers and closed with a recitation that went over big. "RUBEVILLE" - (28 mins.) This was another good repeater here. It kept the audience laughing and applauding from start to finish and had to take a couple of extra curtains. BELLE BAKER - (22 mins) - She was the same big appluse hit she has always been here, singing eight numbers before she was allowed to go and could have stayed longer. Has several new songs and used some of her old ones, and every one was a riot. BORKIN'S COMPANY - (9 mins.) This act gave us something a little bit different for the closing position of the bill and held the spot in good shape. It is one of the best dancing troupe of its kind we have played here. Very well dressed and makes a big flash. Closed strong. GENERAL REMARKS - This week marked the opening of the new season and the show opened to absolute capacity Monday afternoon. The whole bill went over in great shape and furnished very satisfactory entertainment. CUTS Ben & Hazel Mann - "Oh My God" used in a song. Billy Glason - Reference to strikes. The expression "Dont feed that Jewish Lion ham" and about money being Hebrew diploma.
