PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S AUGUST 9 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - A fairly good lot of pictures and paragraphs. MEREDITH & SNOOZER - (15 mins.) A novelty particularly pleasing to women and children and furnished avery good opener. The dog and cats used by the man are splendidly trained. SHIRLEY SISTERS - (10 mins.) The girls did very well with several songs and some dancing, the latter helping them considerably. They make a couple of changes of costumes. Closed to a good hand. MADISON & WINCHESTER - (14 mins.) A couple of "nut" comedians that made our audience laugh. They have a lot of old gags and their act is hokum from start to finish, but the audience liked it and sent them off to a good hand. CLARK & BERGMAN - (17 mins.) Their first appearance here in about five years, and they were a big applause hit with their new sketch, "A Ray of Sunshine." It is a dainty bit of work, well played and enlivened with two or three songs and dance numbers that brought the principals big returns. it is a very pretty novelty that will fill in on any bill. JENNIE MIDDLETON - (9 mins.) Those who like violin music will enjoy this young lady very much. She is an excellent musician, varies her program and she was very well received, each of her numbers being well played. Closed to a warm hand. MASON & KEELER - (21 mins.) Their new sketch, "A Travesty on the Eternal Triangle" is the broadest kind of farce, with Mason carrying more of the comedy than in any of his former vehicles. It contains plenty of bright lines and situations, got a lot of laughs and finished to a good hand. It is well played as all of his vaudeville sketches have been. BONITA & LEW HEARN - Doing about the same order of an act as their old one, only with two or three new songs. They got some laughs with their comedy bits but the act was booked as an entirely new one and it was a big disappointment here and went only fair. (19 mins.) EMMA CARUS - She was a big a hit as usual and with a number of new songs put over a great big applause hit. J. Walter Leopold was an excellent assistant. Miss Carus does a little more talk than usual, getting it all over in good shape and afforded plenty of laughs. It is not up to the last act she gave us but closed very well. (26 mins.) THREE KITANO BROS. - (8 mins.) Did very well in the closing position with a mixture of foot juggling and Risley tricks, the latter being built up with some new tricks, very well executed. Very showy and won a good hand, closing strong. GENERAL REMARKS - A satisfactory show, having plenty of music comedy, and a couple of sketches of different character that gave [paper missing] bill an excellent average. CUTS MADISON & WINCHESTER - Use of the expression "Hell of a time."
