PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S September 15, 9 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Pictures good but not much variety. "Topics" very good. ROY HARRAH & JACQUELINA - (7 mins.) A very good skating act by a man and woman. Harrah does some very good work on one skate, which he features. BELLE SISTERS - (10 mins.) A local act with a big following. Their work is fairly good and they got by in fair shape with a series of songs and dances. Work fast and with plenty of action. EVA TAYLOR & CO. in "Virginia Rye" - (19 mins.) Somewhat lighter in theme and has less action than some of the previous vehicles used by this couple. It is written around prohibition and being an up-to-date topic got ready laughs. Closed to a good hand. COUNTESS VERONA - (16 mins.) As a musical novelty this act did very well. Her program consists of classical and popular numbers and she finished to a big hand with a medley of popular airs. U. S. GLEE CLUB - (25 mins.) A tremendous applause hit. They got a great hand on their opening and each number was a hit in succession. The group makes a splendid appearance, their singing will stand comparison with any male chorus that vaudeville has played and they finished very strong. Jerry Swinford, the conductor, was called out for a little speech and impressed everyone with his talk. WALTER WEEMS - (14 mins.) Did very well with stories and instrumental music. He has some good material, which he delivers in a catchy fashion. He got a lot of laughs and finished to a very good hand. MILLERSHIP & GERRARD - (20 mins.) A classy singing and dancing turn, the best that Miss Millership has presented here. It is composed of classy songs and some picturesque dances. Eddie Horan, at the piano, also contributes a liberal share to the act and the whole offering was very warmly received. THE DIXIE DUO- (18 mins.) These colored boys were a big applause hit. Many of our audience remembered them for their appearance here with Jim Europe's band and gave them a hearty welcome. Their songs scored warmly and they held down the next to closing position in great shape. Were called back for a couple of extra enchores and closed strong. JIM, THE JAZZ KING - (13 mins.) This bear was a good big hit and gave us a very good closing number. He had a routine of ordinary tricks but finished to a riot of laughs by doing the "shimmy". This is one of the funniest bits of business we have ever seen done by an animal. GENERAL REMARKS - This bill was finally put together after several changes, which upset the original make-up and while a little draggy should improve and give a satisfactory show. CUTS WALTER WEEMS - Story about the baby smelling.
