PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S September 29 9 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - (14 mins.) Contained a number of steel strike pictures which were eliminated. "Topics" very good. MAXINE BROS. & BOBBY - (8 mins.) Made a very good opener. The men have a good routine of tricks and the dog is an excellent assistant. WALLACE GALVIN - (18 mins.) Just a fair sleight-of-hand act. His best trick id done with eggs in which a boy from the audience is used for comedy purposes. Got some laughs and closed to a fair hand. ED & BIRDIE CONRAD - (17 mins.) A very pretty dance novelty by a girl and a young fellow. They have made a very praiseworthy effort to get away from the usual dance productions and have an excellent variety of material, well dressed and staged. Finished very strong with a well done dance. TWO JESTERS - (14 mins.) They have some very good songs, most of them new, and got them over in good shape. Finished very strong with a prohibition number that got a lot of laughs. LANGFORD & FREDERICKS - (15 mins.) in "Shopping" - A brand new sketch that made a very good impression. It contains a lot of bright talk that is well handled by Langford, who works in a very breezy style, getting plenty of laughs. Miss Fredericks makes an excellent foil. They interpolate two or three song and dance numbers and finished to a very good hand. WALTER C. KELLY - (19 mins.) Scored his usual big hit here. He has a lot of new stories and repeated the best of his old ones. Finished to a big hand. EDDIE FOY & FAMILY - (16 mins.) A very warm welcome was given Foy and his children and the act, which was put in to headline the bill owing to a disappointment, proved a big hit. The children are doing almost the entire act and getting excellent results. Several numbers are given with Foy adding a little comedy. The act was well liked all the way through. AMES & WINTHROP - (14 mins.) The new offering is entirely different than the one used last season, being more of a straight comedy talking sketch. It was very well received and finished to a big laugh with a burlesque dance. KOBAN & CO. - (8 mins.) One of the best Jap acts we have ever played and is full of thrills, several of the tricks holding the audience in wonder. All their work is splendidly done and the act did very well in the closing position. GENERAL REMARKS - With the exception of Foy and Kelly this was virtually an entirely new show here and when working at its best speed ought to give us a very satisfactory entertainment. Walter Kelly and Ames & Winthrop changed places for the first show and the remainder of the week.
