PROVIDENCE. R. I. E. F. ALBEE NOV. 17th, 9 The show this week plays very well indeed. All the acts pleased, some of them decidedly so and there is every reason to assume that we will do a good week's business. CHARLES LOVENBERG. LA FRANCE BROTHERS: These men coming from Syracuse were unable to make the afternoon performance. At the night show they presented a hand balancing act of considerable merit and attractive production. They are assisted by a white pomerian dog. The act is entirely pleasing. 12 minutes full stage. COUNTESS VERONA: Playing upon the czimbalon. She plays very well and her turn serves as a fiarly good number two feature. 13 min. in one. MR. & MRS. GORDON WILDE: In their well known shadowgraph act. This year they are assisted by their daughter who sings a couple of songs and does a little dancing, tending to let down the act somewhat. The shadowgraph work however, goes off as well as usual. 14 min full stage. WILL OAKLAND: Tenor. Sings some new and some old songs. Pretty near the big hit of the bill. 15 min. in one. MORTON & GLASS: In the same act they have given us on two previous occasions and which does not hold up well through repetition. Not a desirable act under the circumstances, particularly considering the salary. 15 min. full stage. AILEEN STANLEY: Comedy singing. Miss Stanley has a pleasing personality and has some ability which tend to get her over in good shape, nevertheless some of her songs more than approach the age of suggestiveness, but if one started to cut them, there would not be a great deal left of the act. It is too bad for Miss Stanley has sufficient ability to get by without the assistance of vulgarity and with proper songs should be a real asset to vaudeville. 17 min. in one. MRS. WELLINGTON'S SURPRISE: A very good comedy sketch. Well played. Got plenty of laughs. 21 min. full stage. MILLER & MACK: I don't think a great deal of the first part of their act, other than their dancing which has always been very good. The last half, however, with one of the men made up as a buffoon woman scored very strongly. 13 min. in one. ON THE HIGH SEAS: Spectacular melo-dramatic playlet with some wonderful effect which had the audience on its toes. 24 min. full stage.
