PROVIDENCE. R. I. E. F. ALBEE NOVEMBER 10th, 9 As a whole I don't care for the show this week at all. Two or three of the acts are very good. Most of them did not land anywhere. CHAS. LOVENBERG. WELL ING-LEVERING DUO: Comedy bicycle act, very poor. 7 min. full stage. GREY & BYRON: Short young man and tall young woman with nice personalities and no material. A few jokes got some laughs and one song by the woman scored fairly, otherwise a waste of time. 15 min. open in one, close in two and a half. PROSPER & MARET: Hand balancing act by two men; nicely staged and they do some splendid work which the audience was quick to recognize. 7 min. in two. JACK ALLMAN & MISS NALLY: In the same act formerly done by Allman and Arnold Miss Nally has not the proper personality for the material used and the act did only fairly. 15 min. in one. KRANZ & LA SALLE: After all that has been said about these men, I must admit that I am somewhat disappointed. They did not land anywhere to speak of, until they got down to the dancing by one of the men. Their songs which are the kind sung by many other acts, got a little applause and some laughs, but they failed to score until as stated above, during the last four or five minutes of their act. 14 min in one. THE CAT: Comedy sketch played by two women and one man. The theme is not very unusual and the acting only fair. Two points further up in the bill, they would have faired better. The best I can say is that they got by nicely. 18 min. full stage. HELEN TRIX & SISTER: The audience were quick to recognize the artistry of these two ladies. It was very refreshing to note their poise and familiarity with stage work. They are of the real school with good material, properly put over. A hit. 15 min. in one. BUBBLES: By Carlos Sebastian, assisted by Olga Myra and Arthur Anderson, properly should be Arthur Anderson assisted by Olga Myra and last by Carlos Sebastian. They have a very fine production indeed and it is their flash that got them over. Mr. Anderson is one of the finest pianist we have had, his portion of the act received full recognition. Miss Myra is a pretty good dancer and Sebastian is about the worst dancer I ever saw. The novelty of the act as a whole and its flashness got it over to fair applause. 20 min. full stage. PHIL BAKER: With his assistant was the big hit of the show and deservedly so. 23 min. in one. ALFRED FARRELL & CO: Man and woman in an act producing pictures by rags with a little whistling and singing by both the man and woman. A Nice novelty which would have done them better earlier on the bill, but which nevertheless kept almost the whole audience in their seats until the finish. 10 min. full stage.
