PROVIDENCE. R. I. E. F. ALBEE NOVEMBER 3rd. 9 The show this week plays very well indeed and went better with the audience than any we have had for several weeks. CHAS. LOVENBERG. MME. HERMAN: Well known Magic act with some new illusions and on its entirely a pleasing number. 12 min. full stage. THE BARRY GIRLS: These well known young women appear with some new material of comedy, songs and patter, one girl appears at the piano. This is the best act they have given us which gave evident satisfaction. 13 min. in one. BARTO & CLARKE: (Columbia and Victor) This is a good novelty appearing with us for the first time. They introduce some very clever dancing and the act as a whole scores quite a hit. 16 min. full stage. VINIE DALY: Miss Daly sang a number of songs of a varied nature and finished with a dance scoring a large sized hit. 16 min. in one. "5000. A YEAR:" With Robert Hyman and Virginia Mann & Company. A very well written sketch, well played. Pleased immensely throughout, closing to well merited applause. 20 min. full stage. WALTER WEEMS: In a collection of stories told in darky dialect, although he appears in white face, finishing with some solos upon a baritone horn very well played. I think Mr. Weems should appear in black face by all means, although one cannot deny that he made a big hit as he was. 18 min. in one. MABEL MC.CANE & CO: Miss Mc.Cane assisted by Bryan & Broderick and Mr. Taylor produce a very beautiful act, handsomely staged and dressed. The songs and dances met with marked approval and as a whole they may be said to have scored a hit. 28 min. full stage. JOE LAURIE, JR: I don't care very much for Mr. Laurie's turn and it didn't seem to score very much with the audience. Most decidedly over paid to say the least. 22 min. in one. JIM THE SHIMMY KING: Trained bear. The first part of the act doesn't amount to much, a little bit of shimmy at the finish got some laughs, but as a whole the act is only a fair one. 12 min. full stage.
