PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S JANUARY 5th, / 20 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Both very good. TWO CARLTONS - (7 mins.) Two men in a comedy acrobatic turn. Very good opener and closed to a big hand. KELLY & POLLOCK - (16 mins.) A comedy talking act by a man and woman. Fairly good line of talk, finishing with some nut comedy stuff. Did very well. JACK WYATT'S SCOTCH LADS & LASSIES - (18 mins.) We have played this act several times and it has always made good here. It proved a good repeater this week, getting plenty of applause and finishing strong. JOE BROWNING - (19 mins.) A big laughing hit. He has a lot of unusually bright material which he handles in splendid style. Closed strong. EMMET DEVOY & CO. in "Mother's Diary" - (24 mins.) This new sketch of Mr. Devoy's has a very pretty story and made a very good impression. It is a domestic theme, nicely played, and after holding close attention was liberally applauded. ANN GRAY - (11 mins.) This was a return date for this brilliant artiste and she was given a very warm welcome, being one of the big applause hits of the show. Her vocal selections, as well as her harp playing, made a big hit. Closed very strong. SPANISH REVUE - (24 mins.) This act, presented by a company of fifteen, is a big flash and did very well. Plenty of color to it and a variety of songs and dance selections, elaborately costumed. Finished to a good hand. YATES & REED - (14 mins.) They hold this spot in excellent shape, getting a lot of laughs and applause. Their singing is above the average and they have some very good comedy chatter. REYNOLDS DONEGAN CO. - (11 mins.) The showiest skating act in vaudeville containing the most variety and the best executed routine of tricks we have yet seen. Held the audience seated throughout the closing position of the show and finished very strong. GENERAL REMARKS - This entire bill did very well with a capacity audience Monday afternoon and should do the same throughout the week. CUTS "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - "Why slaughter elephants in Africa when there is so much ivory in the Senate." "We wonder what President Wilson gave Lodge for Christmas."
