BOSTON KEITH'S Jan. 12, 20 Kinograms & Topics of the Day:-Fair. Nolan & Nolan:-12 min. F.S. in 2. Clever comedy juggler with lady assistant. Went over very good opening. Dotson:-14 min. in 1. This colored boy is a remarkable dancer and was one of the applause hits of the show. "Playmates":-19 min. in 1-1/2 & F.S. Pleasing act, but rather tame for present day vaudeville. Went only fair. Permaine & Shelley:-14 min. in 1. These boys play a violin and concertina very nicely and have a novel comedy opening. Went well in this spot. Bessie Rempel & Co.:-16 min. in 2 Spec. The material in this talking skit is above the average and well handled by Miss Rempel and her partner. Got a lot of laughs and closed to a fair hand. Vernon Stiles:-15 min. in 1. Mr. Stiles has a exceptional tenor voice and a program that seemed to please all. Closed to a big hand. Rooney & Bent & Co.:-51 min. in 1-1/2 and F.S. Spec. This revue of Rooney's is the best act of this kind that we have played, and was a positive triumph at both shows. Hanlon & Clifton:-6 min. in 1. These boys played to a seated house, and closed to a good hand. German Submarine U-35 Pictures:-24 min. This is a remarkable film taken by the Germans, showing the destruction of a number of Merchant vessels during the War. Although the show was running late they held the audience practically intact. CUTS:-"Playmates":- Please have the girls wear fleshings in the act. Bessie Rempel & Co: Please eliminate the word "best" in the line "You know best", also the expression "My God". REMARKS:- Permaine & Shelley and Vernon Stiles changed position for the night show to the advantage of both acts.
