PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S January 26th 20 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Pictures very good and "Topics got a lot of laughs. MARCO TWINS. 6 min. Doing their old act, a lot of rough comedy in eccentric make-up. Got some laughs and did well for an opener. McCORMACK & MELLON- 12 min. Two boys working in evening clothes and comedy make-ups. Open with violin music and go into comedy and dancing. Both good steppers and the act went very well. DeMAREST & COLLETTE- 16 min. A very good "nut" comedy turn by a man and woman, the former doing all straight and also playing violin. Man gets a lot of laughs with his comedy and the act scored a good sized hit. DOROTHY SHOEMAKER & CO. 6 people. 16 min. Sketch called, "Life". A comedy-dramatic playlet with a scene in a tough cabaret. Theme is a domestic tragedy. All the characters are well handled. It is a new idea and with a surprise finish got over in great shape. Was well applauded. PATRICOLA- 11 min. Making her first appearance here she went on for the evening show in borrowed clothes and made good with songs and violin numbers. At Tuesday's matinee, in her own wardrobe and with more confidence, she was one of the biggest applause hits of the show. SWOR BROTHERS- 20 min. Very good comedy talking act in blackface. Good line of talk, well handled. Finish with comedy boxing and dancing. Closed strong after many laughs. "VIE" QUINN & CO. 18 min. A big applause hit all the way. Girl is a showy stepper and Frank Farnum, the principal support brought a riot with his jazz steps. Carries one singer, with good voice and a jazz band that also got big returns. Whole act is fast, full of "pep", strong on looks and was a tremendous hit. HERBERT CLIFTON- 15 min. Proved a fine repeater. Doing a little more comedy than when last played here and his act was very well liked. Finished strong. FOUR NELSONS-8 min. Fast handling of hoops furnished a very good closing act that brought frequent bits of applause and closed to a fine hand. GENERAL REMARKS- Show was badly twisted on Monday owing to failure of Patricola and Clifton to reach here in time for the opening matinee. Both got on for the night show and the bill rounded into a thoroughly satisfactory manner, going strong with a big house. CUTS Dorothy Shoemaker & Co.-- Soften the expression, "What The Hell" McCormack & Mellon- Line "Old Maid's Children" Frank Farnum ("Vie" Quinn's act) Modify wiggle by man in Bowery Dance.
