PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S February 23rd, 20 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Both pictures and paragraphs were excellent. MARTYN & FLORENCE - (10 mins.) A novelty juggling act with some dancing and a good comedy finish. Did very well in the opening spot. FRED BERRENS - (12 mins.) The novelty of having a player piano, which is used for comedy as well as accompaniment for his violin playing, was warmly appreciated. It is something out of the ordinary and therefore entertaining and interesting. EDITH & EDDIE ADAIR - (12 mins.) "The Bootshop" - A very good little comedy sketch with two people. It repeated the good impression made on its first showing, getting plenty of laughs and finishing to a good hand. MARGARET FORD - (8 mins.) - Her first appearance here and she scored solidly. She sings popular numbers in two voices, soprano and baritone, and was very well received. ELINORE & WILLIAMS - (19 mins.) The same big hit they have always been in this house, starting the laughs early and holding them right up to the finish. Furnished the usual big comedy hit. ROONEY & BENT REVUE - (40 mins.) Repeated the tremendous hit scored last week and has caused more talk then any act we have ever played. Could remain over another week. THE GAUDSMITHS - (9 mins.) A very pretty turn that held the closing position in fine style. Contains some good comedy bits and is a very showy act. GENERAL REMARKS - The bill surrounding Pat Rooney's big act proved very satisfactory from every angle and the whole show played fine. CUTS "Topics" - Did Washington, the father of his country, suffer privations at Valley Forge to make possible some of the things Washington is doing now. The trouble in Washington is that too many representatives of the people are representing other concerns too.
