PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S APRIL 5th, 1920 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Both very good. McCONNELL & AUSTIN - (9 mins.) A man and woman in a comedy bicycle turn. Did very well in the opening spot. HERBERT BROOKS - (17 mins.) One of the best routines of card manipulation we have seen in a long time. Works in a breezy style and was well liked. Closed to a good hand. MOLLIE FULLER - (16 mins.) A new sketch by Frances Nordstrom, called, "Cousin Eleanor". It is a pleasing light comedy vehicle, which serves very well for this company and with Miss Fuller's name ought to do nicely in about this position on the bill. Closed to a good hand. ORTH & CODY - (18 mins.) We have played this act several times and it has always gone very well. It repeated nicely and, with a new comedy bit for the finish, it closed strong. KHARUM - (15 mins.) "The Persian Pianist" - He repeated very well. An excellent player and has a pleasing program of numbers. Makes a very good musical novelty and closed strong, taking several bows. LILY LENA - (15 mins.) She did just fair at the opening matinee but the fault seems to be with her songs more than with her, as her last number went over with a very good hand and closed very well. With a better lot of songs she would undoubtedly go much better. VALESKA SURATT in "Scarlet" - (36 mins.) Undoubtedly the best vehicle Miss Suratt has ever presented in vaudeville and it was a tremendous hit as well as one of the best laugh winners we have had in many a day. It is splendidly played by the star and her company and took a half dozen curtains. DICKINSON & DEAGON - (28 mins.) A big laughing hit and an ideal number to follow the big feature. Kept the audience laughing from start to finish and closed strong. They have freshened up the act since last season by the addition of some new material. DAVIS & PELLE - (5 mins.) Two men in a routine of hand-to hand tricks. Act compares favorably to most we have played, showing several new tricks. Did very well in the closing spot. GENERAL REMARKS - Having about danced them to death here for several weeks we gave them an Easter Week show without a single stepper on the bill. It was jammed full of comedy and with a corking big hit as a headliner the whole show played fine. CUTS McConnell & Austin - Do not display the "Oh Hell" sign.
