PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S APRIL 12th 20 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Both very good. JOHN S. BLONDY & BROTHER - (8 mins.) Shifted from the closing position owing to the non-arrival of one of the acts this act was a big applause hit. The dog is a wonder and the routine of tricks is very showy. BERT HOWARD - (14 mins.) Formerly of Howard & Bland and now doing a single with a piano. Works in a good bit of comedy, which got some laughs, and finished to a good hand after his piano specialty. WHIPPLE & HUSTON - (22 mins.) We played this act about a year ago and it repeated very well this time. It is a cleverly written bit of comedy and songs and is very well played. WOOD & WYDE - (18 mins.) A clever bit of satire that was very well liked. The principals are capable and got all there is to be had out of their material. LOVENBERG SISTERS & SIME NEARY - (19 mins.) The man carries the bulk of the work, doing some very good tricks with ropes and dancing. The girls contribute two or three dance numbers in attractive costumes. Act is nicely staged and was very well liked. LEW DOCKSTADER - (13 mins.) Has some very good material on the Presidential candidates, past and present, and he gets a lot of laughs with his stuff. It is as good as anything he has ever done here and he closed to a big hand. "THE RECKLESS EVE" - (33 mins.) A big flash with a good lot of comedy, nicely staged and got over in very good shape. Music is rather light but one or two numbers stand out strong and are put over through the help of very elaborate costuming. Did very well, finishing to a good hand. TRIXIE FRIGANZA -(20 mins.) With one act short she closed the show at the opening matinee but held the spot in great shape. She has a lot of good material and handles it for plenty of laughs. Went just as well as ever, closing strong. GENERAL REMARKS - We were very lucky to get our whole show, with the exception of one act, in for the opening matinee and the bill played fairly well to a capacity house. A change in running order was made for the night show and the shift ought to improve it and make it thoroughly satisfactory. There were several big applause hits in the bill. CUT Lew Dockstader - Please eliminate the line about the colored woman in the carfare story.
