PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S JUNE 28th, 20 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Very good. LUCAS & INEZ - (9 mins.) Made a very good opener. A showy routine of aerial tricks by a man and woman, the latter being especially good. Closed to a good hand. WHEELER & POTTER - (11 mins.) Did just fair with some talk of a light calibre. The man does a little stepping and the closing number, with his dance, took them off to a fair hand. Act rates just about fair. BEATRICE MORGAN & COMPANY - (20 mins.) This is only a fair sketch and got by in fair shape. NICK HUFFORD - (17 mins.) This boy is not up to big time calibre. He has one good comedy bit that got a lot of laughs, aside from this his material is only fair. A girl is used for a song from one of the boxes. JOSEPHINE & HENNING - (18 mins.) This act did very nicely for us. it is classy looking and contains several catchy song and dance numbers, all nicely done. Closed to a very good hand. GALLAGHER & MARTIN - (17 mins.) A very good singing and talking comedy sketch by a boy and girl. They have a good line of material, handle it well and got a lot of laughs. Close with a song and dance that took them off to a good hand. Held this spot very nicely. "VANITY FAIR" - (25 mins.) This act is a big display of gowns but did not at all come up to what was expected from it. There have been a number of changes in the cast and the whole act needs rehearsing. They gave a very crude performance and were moved up to fifth position on the bill. Mr. Jordan ordered morning rehearsals, after the first show, in order to whip the act into some kind of decent shape. GORDON & FORD - (13 mins.) A big laughing hit that also closed to a big hand. They got a lot of laughs with their material and their songs got over in good shape. GABBY BROS. & CLARK - These boys have a fast routine of club juggling tricks which they handle very well and the act did nocely in the closing spot. GENERAL REMARKS - With "Vanity Fair", the headliner, giving a very poor performance the show was not as good at the opening performance as it will be later with this act changing places with Josephing & Henning, and working smoothly. The Show also had very hot weather to contend with but should improve. CUTS GORDON & FORD - "My God."
