CRITICISM OF SHOW. KEITH's NEW THEATRE, PHILA. MAR. 28TH. McCLOUD & MELVILLE- 12 mins.-Gar in 2-Man and woman, [clag?] dancers and harp players, with a little talk on the side. The talk doesn't amount to much. The harp playing is good, and the singing not bad. Acceptable for an opener. JOH HEALY- 15 mins. in one-Same old John; always goes well here, regardless of his place on the bill. A sure-fire laugh every time. Good. VALVENO BROS.- 10 mins. -Gar. in 3- Hand-to-hand balancers. A neat little night act. The top-mounter is light, and is easily hurdled by the larger man. Good three-a-day act. D. J. HARRINGTON-16 mins-C.D.F. in 2-close in one-Ventriloquist. He carries night figures. His talk is bright in spots, but he is hardly in the two-a-day class. Most of his work is good. Good threea-day act. THE BRITTONS-12 mins. in one-Man and woman, colored couple, very lively singing and dancing act. Went with applause throughout, and finished very strong. Very good colored act. PETCHING BROS.-20 mins.-Landscape in 4- Comedy and novelty musical act. HAve been described before on the circuit. The novelty is very interesting, and the act went very well. Their comedy is not of a very high grade, but the novelty and the music carry the act. Good act. MME WYNNE WINSLOW-10 mins. in one-Centralto vocalist. Went well with those who appreciate good vocalists. WALLNO & MARINETTE-10 mins.-Pal. in 4-MAn and a woman. Second time here. One of the neatest, cleverest and most artistic dancing and singing acts we have ever played. Went very well, with liberal applause. SALLIE STEMBLER-13 mins. in one-Monologue and songs. Her burlesque work was thoroughly appreciated. She made good in a hard place, following closely Mme. Winslow. Good act. VALERIE BERGERE & CO.-22 mins.- Fancy in 3-In "His Japanese Wife." Three people in the company-two women and a man. Miss Bergere in the character of the Japanese girl is on the stage most of the time, and does some excellent character work. Her support is good. The sketch is a bit "talky" but is interesting throughout, and the dialogue contains a great deal of quiet comedy -- the kind our audience can thoroughly appreciate. Though quiet and lacking action, the sketch is good, and Miss Bergere does all that could be expected of her. Good act. DIGBY HELL-15 mins. in one- Told some stories and sang "Hurrah for the Boys in Blue," or something like that. Received courtesy applause on his entrance, and was listened to respectfully. He will be shifted with Sallie Stembler for the balance of the week. As a drawing card his name is good. The finish to his act went extremely well, and on the whole he made good. RYAN & RICHFIELD-25 mins.-Kitchenin 3- In their new sketch "[name] Haggerty's Daughter." Full of comedy, and the audience laughed heartily throughout the act. It is as good as their former sketch, which is saving a great deal. Very good act.
