17 NEW YORK SHOW, WEEK OF MARCH 28, 1904. LAVINE & LEONARD. KR 3.--Comedy jugglers. this is a very good act considered from a three-show-a-day standpoint, both men make up eccentric, and one man makes his entrance in a crazy sort of an automobile. They do about the regulation tricks of all comedy jugglers but have quite a lot of funny work with the auto by the aid of which they close very strong. 14 minutes, full stage. EMERSON & OMEGA.-- GRR 3.-- In a Dutch comedy sketch which is familiar to everybody on the circuit and needs no further comment. 20 minutes, full stage. RASTUS & BANKS. KR 3.-- A colored man and a woman in the same sort of an act that they have done here before. The woman is not very much, but Rastus is probably the best colored acrobat in the country. 11 minutes, open in 2, close in 1. REED & SHAW.-- KR 3.--Ring performers in about as good as any of the ring acts that we play. 11 minutes, full stage. CLARK & FLORETTE.--AR 3.-- A man and a woman in a neat singing and dancing act. They are both quite clever dancers, and the man sings a couple of coon songs especially well. this is a very good three-show-a day turn. 12 minutes in one ROSAIRE --KR 3-- Wire performer. He does about the usual sort of work accomplished by all these performers on the slack wire, though I rather think his hand balancing on the wire is superior to that of any other man whom I have ever seen. 10 minutes, full stage. MARTIN BROS.-- GYY 3.-- Xylophone duetists. I think these men are equally as good as the Johnson Bros. They play with a good deal of feeling, and their execution is very good. 15 minutes in one. McMAHON & CHAPELLE.--GYH 2.-- Man and woman in a comedy talking act, closing with just a little dancing. Somebody has furnished these people with a lot of very clever dialogue and the peculiar manner in which they delivered it makes it especially effective. They made a great hit this afternoon. 19 minutes in one. CRESSY & DAYNE.-- YNH 2.-- Presenting their sequel to "Grasping and Opportunity" which is called "The Key of C." It is only necessary to say that their work went as strong and as fully appreciated as ever. 23 minutes, full stage. JAMES J. MORTON.-- YRR 2.-- In his usual collection of crazy talk, which I think went better than I have ever seen it go in the house. The people fairly screamed during all the time he was on, though I don't suppose anybody could remember two words that he said a minute after he was off, but for genuine laughter he certainly has the monologue comedians up the stump. 15 minutes in one. MIDGELY & CARLISLE.-- YRR 2.-- In "Taking a Tonic." These people got on a little too late for their act, and following so much laughter did not go quite as well as they usually do in this house. This will be remedied later. 24 minutes, full stage, could close in one if necessary. PAULINE HALL.--HRR 2.-- Miss Paul was detained en route by floods along the line of the N.Y.C. road, and did not reach here until after 3 o'clock, consequently she went on out of place, and her absence also affected the position of several other acts. She appeared to be in about as good voice as usual and sang four songs very acceptably. 14 minutes in one. WARTENBERG BROS.-- GHR 2--Acrobats and foot jugglers. A very clever and showy act, which is well known on the circuit. 12 min. full S.
