Report on show, Keith’s Theatre, Providence, R.I. Week of April 11th, 1904 (Charles Lovenberg) I am gratified for the final week of the season we have such a strong bill. I am afraid that following the excellent one of last week we might not be able to give so satisfactory a performance. This however thoroughly all right from start to finish with but 2 exceptions. Myers & Rosa. Juggling act which I have not seen. Will report upon to-morrow. Later-very bad Cooper & Robinson. Two colored men in the usual act of its class and which should be rated as quite good, in fact, very good from a three a day standpoint. 16 min. In one, 3 shows Foster & Dog. This is a cute little canine and he does a number of tricks much out of the ordinary finishing with his playing upon the bells the same as formerly done by Edison’s pug dog. A very nice little act. 14 min. In 2, work in one, if necessary, 3 shows. Kimball & Donovan. very acceptable Banjo playing which went thoroughly alright for the 3 a day section. 12 min. In 1, three shows. Ellsworth & Burt. In their old farce enitiled, “Domestic Pets”. It was very well received by the audience this after-noon and as we have no had it in some years it was thoroughly all right. 20 min. Full stage, 2 shows. Elsie Bernard. Monologue and song. The only failure on the bill. 12 min. In one, 2 shows. Vernon. Ventriloquist. Same act that he has given us on former visits and which went very well indeed. 22 min. Open full stage, close in one, 2 shows. Emmet Devoy & Company. This is one of the best dramatic sketches (comedy) we have ever had. It is splendidly played, especially by the support whom I think are better than the principles. and he is not at all bad. The act went with screams this afternoon and is strong enough for any place in the bill. 27 min. In three, 2 shows. Carson & Willard. The usual Dutch comedy act. To my mind fully as good as any of them, and possibly better. 15 min. In one, 2 shows. Adelaide Hermann. Magic. A very pretty, dainty, taking act. She is not remarkably skillful but presents several novelties in artistic manner, con-cluding with her Aerial suspension, which she calls the “Sleeping beauty”. As it has not been found in any Vaudeville house in my time should be rated as a novelty
