90 TEMPLE THEATER, DETROIT, MICH., JUNE 20. FRANZMATHES AND LEWIS Man and woman in an exhibition of rifle shooting. This is a fair opening act. 10 min. F. S. TYCE AND JERMON Two women in a singing and talking act that went very well with out audiences. 17 min. in one. ROSE COGHLAN & CO. The "company" consists of Lynn Pratt. They appeared in "The Ace of Trumps," and scored a hit. Miss Coghlan was somewhat oppressed on account of the death of John T. Sullivan. She appeared at every performance except the two on the day of the burial of Mr. Sullivan in this city .25 min. F. S. HARRY DAVENPORT This distinguished son of the eminent E. L. Davenport and brother of the late Fanny Davenport appeared in two talking songs and scored one of the biggest hits on the bill. His "turn" is not only novel but altogether enjoyable. 13 min. in one. FREDERICK BROTHERS AND BURNS This trio of musicians scored heavily with the audience. The music is not only excellent but the comedy is bright and altogether enjoyable. 22 min. F. S. Close in one. JOHN AND BERTHA GLEASON AND FRED HOULIHAN This act was another tremendous hit with the audience and was encored again and again as was the act that preceeded it. Houlihan is a master of the pianoforte, Bertha Gleason is a magnificent dancer as is John Gleason, and the Gleason's besides sing entertainingly. 17 min. F. S. ERNEST HOGAN This unbleached American did not go as well with the audience as expected. Perhaps this can be accounted for because he was away down on a fine bill. He has a habit of exposing a large portion of his tongue in one of his songs which I think detracts very much from his act. 14 min. in one. THE MARVELOUS MERRILL'S This act was accorded an ovation. The bicycle riding of the Merril's is not far short of the riding of the Kauffman troupe while the comedy of one of them is mirth-provoking, and was enjoyed by the boxes as well as the gallery. 16 min. F. S. The kinetograph pictures of "The Great Train Robbery" were another big hit, scoring quite as heavily as on their first presentation here.
