99 CRITICISM OF SHOW. KEITH'S NEW THEATRE, PHILA. JULY 11TH. ALEXIS & SCHALL-12 mins.-Gar. in 4-Man and woman, singing, dancing and contortion work. Man is a good contortionist, but a poor comedian. woman is a lively dancer. Act is all right for three shows in an unimportant place. BISSET & SCOTT-12 mins. in one-Two boys, singing and wooden shoe dancing. Not much on looks, but pretty good clog dancers. Said they must have the orchestra to do their act, but they didn't get it. All right for a place on the early bill. Their dancing carries the act. THE GAGNOUX-18 mins.-Gar. in 3-close in one-Man and woman. A neat and clever little juggling act. They have some entirely new and original tricks. A very good little sight act for the three show section. ROBBINS & TRENAMAN-12 mins.-Gar. in 2-close in one-Man and woman, straight singing act. Neatly dressed; fair voices. All right for the three-a-day section. GORMAN & WEST-15 mins.-C.D.F. in 2-Man and woman, comedy sketch, entitled "A Special Meeting." Clever little talking and singing act. The dialogue is very clever, and the comedy is good. A very good act for the three-a-day section. MacGRATH BROS.-12 mins. in one-Two men, straight banjoists. Good little instrumental musical act. STANLEY & WILSON-23 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-close in one-Man and woman, musical comedy sketch, entitled "Before the Ball." Doris Wilson is a beautiful woman, and is possessed of an excellent voice. Stanley is not a bad character comedian. A good act. Received a strong encore. DELMORE & ONEIDA-10 mins. in one-Man and woman, Japanese perch act. woman seems rather stout for the work. They have a stiff place for a three show act, but seemed to get by all right, with frequent applause. Good three-a-day act. ALBAUGH & MAY-25 mins.-C.D. Kitchen in 3-A sketch, "The Girl from Kansas." Three people in the sketch, two men and a woman. Scene, an inn in Mexico. The theme is new; the lines are bright. The part seems to have been written to fit Miss May. There is a great deal of quiet comedy in the sketch, but the finish does not seem to be particularly strong. It is not an act that calls for a great deal of applause, but the action holds the closest attention throughout. Very good act. HARRY DAVENPORT-12 mins. in one-Presenting "Some English Types." Artistic to the finger tips. A really clever entertainer whose work the audiences here can thoroughly appreciate. Very good. HOCK, ELTON CO.-22 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-One man and two women, in a comedy sketch, "Mlle Ricci." New York gave detailed criticism last week. The action of the sketch is almost a duplicate of "Dickey," as presented by Clayton White and Marie Stuart, with practically the same situations. The audience seemed to like it. Good act. SMITH & CAMPBELL-22 mins. in one-Two men, both working straight. A crazy lot of jumbled talk and songs. Pleased some of the audience--those who knew them in the old days--but shorn of their past reputation they may be classed as good for this house--but not great. FOUR RIANOS-12 mins.-Spec. in 4-Comedy acrobatic act. Well known to the circuit. Very lively act to close with the monkey antics are especially amusing. BIOGRAPH-20 mins. Good selection. Nothing unusually good. H. A. DANIELS.
