(2) ROBT. T. HAINES & CO: MHR-2, Consisting of Mr. Haines, Miss Laura Hope Crews, one other lady and a man in a small part, in a piece entitled "Their Honeymoon". This act was rather disappointing yesterday, and I think it was due in a large measure to the fact that our stage is hardly big enough to present the act properly. The set calls for the stage to be divided into three different rooms, and our stage is so narrow that everything is cramped, and in addition the people in the boxes could hardly see the rooms on the respective sides. While there is no question that both Mr Haines and Miss Crews are capable actors, they were undoubtedly badly affected by the lack of room, and hardly did themselves justice. 25 minutes, full stage. GEO. WILSON: YRR-2, Blackface comedian. This man seemed to go as well if not better yesterday than ever before. 21 mins. in one. WELCH, MONTROSE TRIO: YYH-2, This is an off-shoot of the original Keno, Welch & Montrose act. It is a fine comedy acrobatic specialty, introducing some novelties which they have probably stolen from some European performer, as they have just returned from there. They have a revolving table on which they do a lot of clever stunts, and they do the foot and head balancing originally done by the Eretto Troupe, and instead of going up on chairs and table with it as the latter troupe did they go up 12 or 14-foot parallel ladders and then come down again. A mighty good act. 12 mins. full stage. BIOGRAPH: A good selection of views this week. NOTE:- My show this week is not what I would like to see it. There was nothing in view bad at all, but there seems to be a lack of comedy. In addition to this the weather yesterday was something awful on account of the tremendous humidity in the atmosphere, and the show suffered in consequence. I have an idea that it will be a fair bill if the weather was a little cooler. S.K. HODGDON.
