116 CRITICISM OF SHOW KEITH'S NEW THEATRE,PHILA. AUG. 8TH'04 THE GOLUBACKS-8 mins.-Rocky Pass in 3-Boy and girl, Russian songs and dances. A bright and lively little act for the three show section. Good act. FALARDO-12 mins. in One-The instrumental man. Supposed to reproduce the sounds of different musical instruments, also a trolley car, etc. He is not possessed of any great amount of ability in his line of work. Can get by all right in the early three-show-section. ELECTRIC COMEDY FOUR-18 mins.-Landscape in 3-close in one-Four men, quartette, singing and comedy act, entitled, "Military Life in Georgia." An all right act for the three-show section, but not in the two-show class. Comedy is poor. Singing is not so bad, but they show poor judgment in their selections. Will fill in [fine?] in an early spot on the bill without harm. McDONALD & HUNTINGTON-10 mins. in One-boy and girl, singing and dancing team of fair ability. Good time filler in one for the three-show section. LYSTER & COOKE-11 mins.-Gar. in 4-Man and woman. Xylophone specialty by the man, and equilibristic specialty on the tight wire by the lady. Very acceptable little act for the three-show section. MORTON & ELLIOTT-10 mins. in 1-1/2-Two men, harmonica playing and paper tearing. A good novelty act. Went well, with liberal applause. Exceptionally good three-a-day act. CLARA BALLERINI-11 mins.-Gar. in 4-Assisted by another young lady. Miss Ballerini opened with work on an unsupported ladder. The assistant young lady then skipped the rope. Ballerini then went to trapeze and did her well known and clever balancing act. Very good act. ARTHUR WHILELAW-15 mins. in One-Irish monologue. Has a neat appearance, and really looks like a prosperous Irishman. His talk was not very clever, and the best he could do was to get a few scattered laughs. Not in the two-show class, and he will probably go up the bill in the re-arrangement. DOLAN & LENHARR-25 mins.-C.D.F. in 3--In their well-known sketch "A High-Toned Burglar." A scream of laughter from start to finish. Very good act. MEREDITH SISTERS-10 mins. In One-Close in 2-Singing and dancing specialties. An exceptionally neat and clever singing and dancing act. Very good. CARLIN & OTTO-16 mins. in One-Dutch comedians. Probably as good as any we play. They had some new stuff, and their jokes went very well. Very good act. JESSIE MILLWARD & BOYD PUTNAM-34 Mins.-Fancy in 3-In Hartley Manners' sketch, "A Queen's Messneger." A serious little love plot around a grip full of important government dispatches. The man, and English officer; the woman, a Russian spy. Clever, artistic--but serious. Commanded the closest attention, and seemed to thoroughly please. Very good act. MLLE. SLAPOFFSKI-14 mins. in One-Second week. Fully as strong as last week. A very strong attraction. WELCH-MONTROSE TRIO-12 mins.-Gar. in 4-Three men, acrobatic act. The act they presented this afternoon was very much on the shine for a closing act. They went over and sat on the revolving table, but failed to do anything in the "revolving" line. It may be a good act when they feel like working, but they didn't work to-day. BIOGRAPH-20 mins. Among other, the submarine boat picture. Good selection. H. A. DANIELS.
