Newell and Steele, 3 shows, 11 min. full stage -- Acrobats working on flying rings, one of them made up as a clown, the other working straight. It is a good act of its class, and from a 3-per-day standpoint better than the average. McDonald and Huntington, 3 shows, 12 min. in 1 -- Man and woman, singers and dancers. Nothing conspicuously clever about them, but all right for the 3-show section. William Potter and Effie Hartwell, 3 shows, 12 min. full stage -- Novelty head-to-head acrobats, and the best team of the kind we have had here for several months. Will take the more conspicuous place in the bill held this afternoon by Newell and Steele. So far as Boston is concerned this sort of act can go anywhere in the 2-show section. Hoyt and Waller, 3 shows, 15 min. in 1 -- Man and woman in foolish conversation and poor vocalism. Poor act from any standpoint, we can easily do without it. Fitzgerald Brothers and Miss Roma, 3 shows, 12 min. full stage -- This is a clever juggling act, its strength being in the good work of the girl, which is decidedly exceptional, her sex considered. If it were possible, would be justified in giving the act, a strong place in the bill, as it could not fail to make good. Comment - The show is not so lively in the 2-show section as that of last week, though I look for it to go very much better with the night audience, and in fact with audiences outside of the lethagetic bunch we get on Monday afternoons. The 3-show section is much stronger than usual, the specifically strong entertainers in this section being Harry Brown, Pottery and Hartwell, Newell and Steele, Fitzgerald brothers and Miss Roma. The "personal" picture in the biograph will run two weeks very easily, as it is the best comedy subject we have had for some time.
