Coakley & McBride. Black face dancers and comedians. Coakley is to my mind as good a step dancer as there is in the business and McBride almost as bad as Coakley is good. Their comedy is rather weak. The act may be rated as good for the salary it gets but should not hold down the place I am obliged to give them in this show. 20 min. in one, 2 shows. Jessie Millward. and Francis Carlyle. In "The Queen's Messenger." I consider this unquestionably the best sketch and the best played sketch that we have had in the house and this with such people as "Bob Hilliard" and others in mind. The story is intense and interesting and every detail is brought out in the work of these capable people. It cannot fail to make a hit with any intelligent audience. 28 min. full stage, 2 shows. A. O. Duncan. Ventriloquial comedian. Much to my surprise Duncan went on in a most difficult spot in the bill and the show fully ten minutes late in the afternoon and made one of the hits of the day. After 18 minutes of work the audience wanted more. Nothing better than that can be said of his work. 2 shows, open in two close in one. Gasch Sisters. Well known act just played all over the circuit and went very strong today. 7 min. full stage 2 shows. Biograph. Usual collection of views which were fair. Walter Daniels. Impersonator. This act is well known over the circuit and requires no comment. Very good act for the three a day section. 13 min. in one, 3 shows.
