192 GRAND OPERA HOUSE WEEK COMMENCING OCT. 17th, 04. PITTSBURG, PA. MASON & FRANCIS-Comedy sketch. 20 minutes full stage. Two shows daily. This, in our opinion, is not a good act and we would not care to play it a return. If they were in the three show section they would just about get away. COAKLEY & MCBRIDE-15 minutes. Street in one. Black face comedians and dancers. The dancing in this act is only fair. The singing and gagging is very bad. HERBERT's EDUCATED DOGS. 13 minutes, full stage, wood. This is only a fair dog act introducing nothing out of the ordinary. HARRIGAN-18 minutes. Open in two, close in one. Doing about the same as usual and is going good here. CARTER DE HAVEN SEXTETTE. 25 minutes, full stage. Palace. There is nothing to this act except pretty costumes. I do not consider this as good as the Carter De Haven Trio Act and I think they are getting entirely too much money. LOTTA GLADSTONE- Monologue. Olio in one. 18 minutes. Goes very well but with new material she would do much better. HALLEN & FULLER-20 minutes, full stage, in their sketch entitled "Election Bets". The act is comedy all the way through and is doing very well with us. NORA BAYES-14 minutes. Olio in one. Has several new songs and seems to be just as great a favorite now as at any time she has played Pittsburg. PROSPER TROUPE-ACROBATS. 9 minutes, full stage-garden. There is too much sameness to this act and they dress very badly. Can only be classed as an ordinary act which is not worth the money they receive. ROBIN FREAR HEATH. Black face comedian in one. 15 minutes. This young man has a fair voice, bad jokes and acts very much like an amateur. POWERS & FREED-Musical artists. 15 minutes. Interior, full stage. This act just about gets away in the three a day section. BERT WIGGINS-Comedy juggling and crayon artist. 3 shows. 15 minutes in one. Does very well among the three a day acts. KINETOGRAPH-15 minutes. The principal picture this week "Taking The Rest Cure".
