193 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of October 24, 1904. (Charles Lovenberg, Manager.) This is an exceptionally good bill and I look for an exceptional good week's business. We started in well with as good a Monday matinee if not the best one, we have had this season. No doubt a great portion of it was due to Helen Reimer's appearance. Naomi Ethardo. Equilibrist and contortionist. In the same act she has always given us and which is very acceptable in an early place on the bill. 12 min. in two, three shows. Helen F. Dodge. This is a Providence girl who has had some stage experience and who is giving a little singing turn. At the price I am paying her (S R) for 3 shows and as she works in one, I consider the act of some value. She is quite good looking and makes a very neat appearance and while her voice is only passable she gets by thoroughly all right and would be all right to play at that price in an early spot on the bill. 10 min. in one, three shows. Foster & Dog "Mike." This is a very clever act, in a way, but the Dog seems to be very slow and as I remember that was the trouble with him when here before. It it not nearly so good as that of "Yankee & Dixie" on the same order. 15 min. in two, 3 shows The Holdsworths. Young man and young woman in a very clever little singing and dancing and banjo playing act. They seem to have improved materially since here before. 14 min. in one, 3 shows. H. V. Fitzgerald. Change artist. This act is well known, suffice to say that it always goes well here. 15 min. full stage, 3 shows. Yorke & Adams. I have the same old complaint to make about this act, that it in no sense, is worth the money we pay it. In a very easy spot on the bill They did first rate today but for the price I cannot see it at all. 16 min. in one, 3 shows. McRae & Poole. One man sharp-shooter, the other, holder of objects. A very good three a day act. 12 min. full stage, 3 shows. Helen Reimer. In a protean sketch, introducing several characters. Of course she had a tremendous reception here and highly pleased this audience. I understand the act has been improved considerably since It was in New York and in its present condition, I consider it thoroughly all right for any bill up to 8:45 in a night show. At the salary and considering that it is a very unusual style of act and done entirely in one, it seems to me to have considerable value. 16 min. 2 shows. Ward & Curran. Practically the same act they have given before with some new songs and a few new jokes. They went first rate with the audience. 27 min. in 3, 2 shows. Melani Trio. There has been a little change in the make-up of this act, one new man replacing another, hardly to its betterment, however it is a very good act, as good as any of that kind, and pleases the audience fully as well. 14 min. in one, 2 shows.
