Fred Ward and John Curran, 2 shows, 27 min. open in 4, close in 1 -- In their old sketch, "The Terrible Judge", into which they have introduced a few changes of character, in the court scene, but otherwise it remains the same. did not go so strong as during previous engagements. Collins and Hart, 2 shows, 10 min. full stage -- Comedy acrobats, the hit of their act being made with burlesque hand-to-hand balancing, which was laughed at and applauded heartily. Press Eldredge, 2 shows, 20 min. in 1 -- Blackface comedians, too well-known to managers to need lengthy comment from me, beyond the fact that he fell down horribly. The audiences neither appreciated his songs nor his stories. Herzog's Horses, 2 shows, 18 min. full stage -- Twelve Trakehne stallions, six black and six chestnuts, two of the latter being used by the trainers for a high school exhibition, at the opening of the act. It is unquestionably the strongest act of the kind that has ever been put on the stage here, but it would be impossible to work it elsewhere, and the Herzogs say that they would never undertake it. The Biograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1 -- Showing 1, Launch of the Battleship Connecticut. Excellent and interesting picture. 2, Shriners at Coney Island. A fairly interesting picture, many of the people in it being Bostonians, which will serve to draw some business. 3, The Lost Child. This was received with as much laughter as last week. Carlotta Delmar, 3 shows, 10 min. full stage -- This girl is clever and graceful, and does not get off her bicycle from start to finish of the act. She went well in this unimportant position in the bill. Comment - The show down as far as Miss Reimer was pleasing, but dead, and did not have an act in it that has not appeared at some time, most of them within the preceding twelve months, and to make it worse five of them were in 1. All of the comedy in the bill was lumped in three acts, all of which had been here before, and one of them, as detailed above, fell down badly. The show is not so strong as that of the preceding two weeks, in any sense, and we will have to strengthen it some. Coming on the opening week of the opposition and the week preceding election this was decidedly bad. On paper, It looked all right, but when it come to be seen on the stage I must confess it was a disappointment.
