222 GRAND OPERA HOUSE WEEK COMMENCING NOV, 7th, 04. Pittsburg, Pa. THE ZARNES. 10 minutes, full stage. Wood. 3 shows. Aerial act. Consider this a very good three show a day act. THE HOLDSWORTHS- 15 minutes. Olio in one. Singing and banjo playing. this is a very fair three a day act. NAOMI ARTHARDO- 8 minutes in one. Equilibrist. 3 shows. We consider this a good three a day act. BARRY & HALVERS- 17 minutes full stage. Interior. Eccentric comedians, singers and dancers. This is the first appearance of this act at this house and they are going very good. CAL. STEWART- 3 shows. 18 minutes. Yankee Monologue. I consider this far above the average three show act. Chas. Ernest was taken sick Tuesday night and had to close. We gave Mr. Stewart his place on the bill and he did fully as well as Mr. Ernest. MATTHEWS & HARRIS- 20 minutes, full stage. special set. This act is very tiresome. While there are some very funny lines in it, we consider both Matthews and Harris very poor performers. They are not going very well here and I would not care to play them a return. LABELLE BLANCHE- 9 minutes in one. Imitation of Vesta Tilly, Lillian Russell, Marie Dresser. I did not consider this a good act. Her imitation of Marie Dresse[r] is about the only thing that saves her. CALLAHAN & MACK- 20 minutes, full stage. This act is going just as big now as it did on their first appearance here. We consider it one of the best acts in the business. KELLY & VIOLET- Olio. 14 minutes in one. This is their third or fourth appearance here and both Mr. Kelly and Miss Violet have had something new in the way of wardrobe each time. This is without a doubt the neatest act that we have ever played and the singing of Mr. Kelly far above the average. In all, it is one of the best applause getting singing acts that we have played. CHASSINO-Shadowgraphist. 10 minutes in three The work of this gentleman is the best of the kind I have ever seen. He does better work with his feet than other people in this smae line can do with their hands. There is lots of comedy in the act and I feel sure it draws us some money. CRANE BROS- 20 minutes in one. "Mudtown Minstrels". Just as big a hit as ever. We have them on next to closing the show and they keep the audience going from the opening until the close of their act. BRADNA'S HORSES- 9 minutes, full stage. Wood. Miss Bradna dresses very well, has nice looking horses and does an act away from all other horse acts that we have played. It is a riding act and something of a novelty to vaudeville. MORRIS HART- Animal imitator. 14 minutes in one. This is without a doubt one of the worst acts of the kind that we have ever played. If it were not for the heads of animals that Mr. Hart uses in giving his imitations it would be hard to tell what imitation Mr. Hart was attempting. However, we have Mr. Hart on at a time that he cannot do much damage. J. P. Harris.
