229 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of November 21st, 1904. (Charles Lovenberg, Manager.) The show is as satisfactory as any we have ever played. Lots of good comedy and novelty acts and there is not a poor feature on the bill. Marinellas. Ring act and a very good one from the three per day standpoint, to open the show. 9 min. full stage, 3 shows. Cunningham & Lord. This is a young fellow and girl who make a very neat appearance and do some rather good dancing. The act is fairly good from the three a day standpoint and is all right to fill a little time on the early part of the bill. 11 min. in one, 3 shows. Earl & Wilson. Man and woman in a musical comedy sketch in which the woman does the comedy and to me, she is really funny, fully as much so as Kate Elinore. The man plays fairly well on the Cornet and electric bells are acceptable. a good three a day act. 15 min. open in 3, close in 1, 3 shows. Chamberlins. Rope experts. This is a very novel act and I believe the only one of its kind, in the business. People are rather refined in their manner and do some very effective work which was thoroughly appreciated by the audience. A mighty good three a day act. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. Ada Arnoldson. Vocalist. she has been over the circuit considerably, but will say that I think she is in a little better form than before. 9 min. in one, 3 shows. Singer's Monkey Comedians. This is a pretty good monkey act although not as good as I expected. Monkeys are funny, in any case and these have a little novelty in the Chinese Laundry Scene together with some of the usual monkey tricks. 13 min. full stage, 2 shows. Sydney Dean & Co. In "CHIRSTMAS ON THE ISLAND". This act is not as good as when I saw it in New York, at Proctors. They have replaced, at least, one of the singers with a much inferior man. The music is of a rather good quality and they sing it decently but I still think the act is $50. overpaid. At that price should be rated as a very good turn. 21 min. in one, 2 shows. Gardner & Vincent. In "AN IDYLL OF THE LINKS". This is the same sketch they played over the circuit last season, and the same report will stand. It is all right if not depended upon for too much. 18 min. full stage, 2 shows. Edwin Nicander. Songs and stories. It is natural to suppose that Mr. Nicander would go very big here still I am inclined to think that he will make good for the salary he gets, anywhere. He is a clean-cut, neat appearing, good-looking fellow, with a more than ordinary good Baritone voice. He sings a couple of songs in an attractive manner, and he has some very funny talk about an automobile. The first part of his act opens quietly but if put on from 8 to 8:30 it will go thoroughly all right and shall make good for the salary he gets. 16 min. in one, 2 shows.
