PHILADELPHIA SHOW SEPT. 18TH 1905 E. T. JORDAN. 41 JACK & GILDA CANNON-3-Man and woman in a so called comedy sketch, introducing singing and an attempt of a dance on the part of the woman. Very weak, and just got by as an opener with an easy audience. 18 mins. SCOTT & JOHNSON-3-Colored team. Two men in singing, dancing, and close with a little acrobatic work. Fair early act. 20 mins. Adv. St. in 1. THE DELMARS-3-Barrel jumpers. Two men, both working straight. These boys had one of two new stunts, and are good workers. Proved interesting to our audience, and received frequent applause. Good act for early bill. 10 mins. Gar in 4. AL. COLEMAN-3-Story teller, well known on circuit. While none of his stuff is original he is a good chooser, and seemed to entertain this afternoon, in fact went quite a bit better than ever before in this house. Cut story about woman dropping egg. 19 mins. Olio in 1. CHAS. BARON'S BURLESQUE DOG MENAGERIE-2-New York thoroughly covered this act in their criticism. It is absolutely original, and won instant favor with our audience. Frequent laughter and applause throughout the act. 15 mins. Gar. in 4. TOM BROWNE-2-Whistling and imitations. Browne's first appearance in this house. While his work is not at all startling, he has a novel and attractive manner of presenting it, and scored heavily this afternoon. Good act. 13 mins. Olio in 1. EVA WESTCOTT & CO.-2-Miss Westcott supported by Tom Browne in a little playlet entitled, "An Episode in Modern Life" This is really a monologue as the man does not speak. The idea is original, and well carried out, while Miss Westcott is thoroughly artistic. She had no difficulty in holding the attention of the audience, and received a strong hand at the finish. Good act. 15 mins. C. D. F. in 3. VERA KING-2-Songs and stories. This woman has a most attractive appearance, good personality, and dresses well. She has a good voice, and her songs and talk this afternoon proved very acceptable to the people out front. Good act. 12 mins. Oilo in 1.
